we have a very large address space which would take a huge amount of ressources to scan, not to mention a lot of time.
The devices (host) issue periodic packet received by an in-house software which is able to identify new host and to monitor lost of contact (host UP or DOWN) for known hosts.
Would it be possible for Zabbix to use these information as host discovery and UP/DOWN host to generate alarms ?
Running Zabbix 2.4.3 on Ubuntu 14.04.
