I would like zabbix to be able to access the JMX port via localhost:<JMX port> rather than using the hostname/interface for security reasons.
Would I be able to add an interface with localhost (since there is a zabbix agent on this server) and get the jmx stats from localhost?
I'm Not sure but I believe remote host uses the interface to get the IP/DNS information for the remote JMX monitoring connection, so if I add a localhost, it would just look on the system and connect.
localhost:<JMX Port> vs <hostname>:<JMX Port>
Please let us know your thoughts.
