My company uses many VM's in Azure and AWS. I've just recently configured Zabbix and am looking for best practice or advice on monitoring these VM's/hosts with Zabbix. I've added a few hosts already without issue using Zabbix Agent 2 in passive mode. I'm using the Windows Template as they are all Windows Servers but I'm not sure if I should choose a VM template or if there's a better template for AWS/Azure VM's?
One thing I've noticed right away is some windows services continuously trigger as not running. For example, this is triggered on a couple of servers: "WbioSrvc" (Windows Biometric Service) is not running. So my question to this, is the best practice to notify the admin of that server and suggest they disable that service as it's not being used? Or since the service as I understand it, is only activated when a supported device is connected to the server which again doesn't apply, should I disable this trigger on Zabbix? Since all the servers running in AWS and Azure wouldn't need this service, is it best to disable the trigger globally? Once I disable it though, what about actual servers that may need it?
