Cannot read the response, check connection with the Zabbix server "localhost".

I've configured a odbc connection to Oracle Database in my zabbix server. It all seems to work well, as I could tested with isql command and sqlplus.
The problem is: I've downloaded a template for Oracle odbc monitoring on zabbix (this: https://github.com/den-is/zbx_oracle_odbc) and configured the macros on my host, but when I tried to test an item, it's not working and I receive this message: "Cannot read the response, check connection with the Zabbix server "localhost"" and below "zabbix server is not running: the information displayed may not be current" and I can't monitor anything from the database...
What it means? Maybe a refused connection from the database host?
