I would like to know what source & target is used when I do not specify one in the item setup page. So, lets say I have a master-server, a proxy and a host wich is monitored by said proxy.
I have a template "tpl-sys-generic" wich contains only this item:
icmploss[,4,,,]
When I apply this template to my host, wich machine starts to ping wich machine? Is my host pinged by the proxy? The masterserver? Does the host ping itself? I'm getting values for this items, but I have no idea where the're coming from. I've searched the docs, but they are unclear in this point.
Basically I want to check if a host is up (answering ping requests) and I want to do this via a template, so I can apply this to many hosts.
