    Filter options

    Hello folks,

I've been looking and searching to find a good explanation about some of the filter options that are present in a couple of the Zabbix (3.0.2) front end sections like "Status of Triggers".

I am trying to write a manual for some of the people who are going to be monitoring our systems and while many of the functions are clear as day, some seem just weird and are quite unclear.

Obviously I have examined the Zabbix documentation/manual. But this does not explain what I am looking for. (Documentation chapter 17 paragraph 5.1.5)

One of the things I come across is the "Events" filter option. This item has three options; - Hide all, - Show all (30 days), - Show unacknowledged (30 days)

Now the only thing which seems to be changing when you hit the "filter"-button is a column titled "Duration" appears in the list of triggers. However, each row for this column is simply empty, which is odd because obviously a trigger has a duration. The functionality of the "events" option eludes me.

Another thing which has me scratching my head is the "Age less than" option. Even though the function of the option is clear the result is baffling. If you uncheck the box you should get a chronological order of each and every trigger that ever occurred for the selected group and/or host(s). However, there seems to be some sort of system limit which isn't clear until you fumble around a bit. When the "age less than" box is unchecked my most "recent" trigger was 13 days and 11h ago. However, if I turn on the filter the true recent triggers show up. When playing with the amount of days it should show I found out that 197 days is the limit for showing correct triggers. A larger number of days results in the most recent trigger being almost two weeks ago.

Can somebody please elaborate on the functionality? Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something?
