Hi, sorry in advance for my English.
I've got the same problem like here https://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43048 but this thread two years old, solution wasn't helpful and i won't reanimate it.
My version is 3.0.3 and i made item like this:
Name: telnet test
Type: TELNET agent
Key: telnet.run[testing,192.168.x.x]
Host interface: 192.168.x.x:161
User name: user
Password: password
Execute script: /ip firewall connection print count-only
Type of info: Text (or Numeric (unsigned))
Update interval: 10
And like it described in old thread - i see "Login failed" error too. Author said it was helpful to use login form "username+cte", but not for me. When I adding "+cte" to login - mikrotik shows last login from this account but zabbix still shows "login failed". Other experiments to mix "c" "t" and "e" parameters (ce, ct) also gave no results. All i want - just to monitor connections count and maybe someone here did telnet (or ssh) items on Mikrotik routers yet? I've got the same issue with ssh agent but got no problem on my linux machines.
