I have a VM that runs an Asterisk and I already monitor the status of the service, if it is running or stopped.
What happens is that, sometimes the asterisk stops working properly, but the service is still running, so I'm not aware that it is not working until someone notices it.
My question is.... Is there a way to check the actual status of a service, apart from checking if it is up or down?
