IBM IMM2 monitoring

Am a bit of a newbie to zabbix. Am trying to setup monitoring of our IBM's IMM2 card. I found a couple of posts in the forums about this, but I think i'm missing a few details some where...

Ive installed ruby on the zabbix server, have put the getFanSpeed.rb file in /usr/lib/zabbix/externalscipts folder
I've imported this template in to zabbix server: Template IBM - IMM2 SNMP.xml which is available from the zabbix templates site.
At this point, this is where I get a bit stuck. Does the host which has the IMM2 card in it need something doing to it to push the IMM2 data in to zabbix, and likewise, does the IMM2 card need something configuring to push SNMP data to zabbix / the host?
So far on the IMM2 card, ive set SNMP v1 with a community name of "public" , access type "trap" and i've tried setting the host to both the zabbix server and the host which has the IMM2 card physically installed in it.
Is any one able to point me in the right direction?
Server is running Centos 7 with zabbix 3.0 installed.
