I don't know if many of you use the SNMP support in Zabbix, but I would like to know if there is any generic advantge of using SNMP instead of the Zabbix agent for monitoring. Do they support different kinds of item (besides those used in SNMP templates)? Would I save my database from opening all of those connections the zabbix agent needs?
