I would like to ask for assistance with my Zabbix setup. I am using QEMU on Linux Mint and the VMs are RHEL 8.9. Zabbix version is 6.4.
1. I have setup server and agents on 3 different VMs. Server VM's IP is 192.168.122.107, Agent VM's IP is 192.168.122.250 while Agent2 VM's IP is 192.168.122.173. To keep things simple, I disable SELINUX and firewalld. Zabbix server using postgresql & nginx. I am able to browse to page http://192.168.122.107:8080/zabbix.php. I have added both agent VMs, updated the config file to point to 192.168.122.107 and making sure the Hostname is the same as the machine name in Zabbix web. However, I am getting error "Agent is unavailable".
2. For 192.168.122.250, command nmap -Pn -p 10050 192.168.122.250 responded with port is open. I am able to telnet to port 10050 but it just closed. isn't it supposed to respond with Zabbix agent version ?
3. For 192.168.122.173, nmap complaint port 10050 is filtered and telnet said no route to host. Is routing required since all are on 192.168.122.xxx ?
I am very new to Zabbix. I would appreciate if someone can help me to got through this. I would like to learn Zabbix monitoring for the purpose of career advancement. I think it's time to upgrade my skill. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.
