Hi.
We're wondering if there is a way to get a "memo" type item on the Zabbix Dashboard? Obviously Problems can be acknowledged by users, enabling them to put a rationale into those items, but that can often be at quite a low level of analysis.
I'm therefore trying to find a "neat" way to get a "scratchpad" type item stored in the Zabbix to align with events, as well as displayed on a dashboard. Looking for something like 128 characters only, something like "call received from X; system Y offline, marked as cause" that's in everyone's face when they log in.
My initial thoughts, since scratchpads aren't supported, is to have a text file stored on a specific disk which is read by a Zabbix Agent and stored, on change, into a Zabbix Item against that host, which can then be displayed on the Dashboard, but something about this seems cumbersome.
Has anyone else got something like this working?
