I am currently using Zabbix for monitoring and need to monitor my AWS infrastructure efficiently. I initially tried the AWS by HTTP template, but it caused significant issues. The template generated a large number of requests to AWS CloudWatch, which led to unexpectedly high costs.
I would like to hear from professionals who are monitoring AWS (or even GCP) with Zabbix. What are the best practices for optimizing monitoring while keeping costs under control? Are there any alternative approaches or custom templates that reduce API calls but still provide essential metrics?
