So I should preface this by saying that this is likely a dumb question. However, either nobody else has tried to do this before or, more likely, I'm simply not thinking about it in a way that's generating search terms with the answer.
In any case, for a given host in Zabbix, I have 10 applications, and there are 73 items scattered among those applications. For each item I have a 'WARN' and a 'CRIT' trigger, based on various levels of 'bad', for a total of 146 triggers.
Now, if I use the default 'Trigger Overview' item on my screen, it's 146 items wide. Even if I filter it down to a specific application, it's kind of overload.
What I'd like to see is a grid, just like you would see in a Trigger Overview, with hosts down the side, but applications (instead of triggers) across the top. Of course, this means I need some sort of aggregate 'status' for each application. Ideally it would simply be equal to the highest severity problem for all triggers that apply to that application on that host (i.e. is one item is WARN and the rest are OK, then this trigger would be WARN, etc.)
Is there any way to create a pseudo-trigger like this? I'm actually sort of surprised that I can't find a way to do this already, since Zabbix seems to have an awareness that a trigger can belong to an application (or applications). Can I see a single stats for an entire application's worth of triggers?
Alternatively, am I being dumb? Is there a better way to do this? Can I make a custom thing via the API? This is basically an 'at a glance' TV display that I'm going for here, for the entire service, but broken down by application.
