I am new to Zabbix and I need to monitor switches with a lot of uplink ports.
I currently have separate triggers for my two uplink ports on my switch. Since there might be a possibility that some of the ports are going to be used for other devices that will be turned off and turned on and I don't want that to send me alerts. Is it better to just create a template with a bunch of predefined triggers and just disabled them if they're not an uplink port?
1. Name: Uplink Interface G1/0/19 status on {HOST.HOST} went down!!!
Expression: {testSw2:g1019LinkStatus.last(#1)}=2
Description: Interface status went from up to down!!!
2. Name: Uplink Interface G1/0/20 status on {HOST.HOST} went down!!!
Expression: {testSw2:g1020LinkStatus.last(#1)}=2
Description: Interface status went from up to down!!!
Results:
Test Switch 2 Uplink Interface G1/0/19 status on testSw2 went down!!!
Test Switch 2 Uplink Interface G1/0/20 status on testSw2 went down!!!
