Recomended antivirus exclusions for Zabbix on Rhel and Windows (Trend Micro)

    Hello,

We are running Zabbix 7.0 Lts on Rhel/Oracle Linux servers in an enterprise enviroment.
Our endpoint security solution (Trend Micro) requires an official vendor/community recommendation regarding real time antivirus scan exclusions for Zabbix components, to avoid potential performance issues, file locking, service interruptions or false positive detections.

    We have mixed enviroment
Linux (RHEL) servers running Zabbix Server / Proxy
Linux hosts running Zabbix Agent 2 (zabbix_agent2) and some hosts still using classic Zabbix Agent (zabbix_agentd)
Windows hosts running Zabbix Agent / Agent 2

Could you please confirm if the following directories and executables are standard Zabbix paths. if it is common/recommended to exclude them from real-time antivirus scanning?

    Linux
    Directories:
    • /etc/zabbix/
    • /run/zabbix/
    • /usr/lib/zabbix/
    • /var/log/zabbix/
    • /var/lib/zabbix/
    • /var/www/html/zabbix/
    Executables:
    • /usr/sbin/zabbix_server
    • /usr/sbin/zabbix_proxy
    • /usr/sbin/zabbix_agent2
    • /usr/sbin/zabbix_agentd
    • /usr/local/sbin/zabbix_server

    Windows
    Directories:
    • C:\Program Files\Zabbix Agent\
    • C:\Program Files\Zabbix Agent 2\
    • C:\ProgramData\Zabbix\
    Executables:
    • zabbix_agentd.exe
    • zabbix_agent2.exe

Also, if there are any other recommended Zabbix-related directories, files or executables that should be excluded from antivirus real-time scanning, please let us know.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards.
