Best practice for monitoring multiple server vendors with unified template

Hi everyone,

I’m new at Zabbix and still learning how to structure things correctly.

I need to monitor servers from different vendors via SNMP, so I’m looking for a way to create a template that aggregates or unifies the data from all of them.

My questions are:

1. Should I use the official vendor templates and then link them to a unified/parent template that I create?
2. What is the recommended way to display all vendors together on a dashboard?
3. What exactly are discovery rules, and would they be something I should include in the unified template?

I’d appreciate any guidance or best practices from people who have implemented something similar.
