Had a bad day here with a group of client servers flapping all day constantly. The alert shows the cause is the that hostname.status is unreachable, then on the next check its UP then it unreachable over and over and over ....
What does status unreachable actually mean? Is this using ICMP ping to check the 'status' or does this use feedback from the zabbix agent itself ?
Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the status check ?
