Hello,
this is a small patch which allows to update type of items got from templates on per-host basis. For example: you have template 'Template_Linux' which is used by some amount of hosts on you internal, protected network and all these hosts monitored using 'Agent (active)' items. This works fine, but if you have some hosts which must monitor the same items, but for some reason these hosts cannot connect to server (i.e. they are in DMZ), you must duplicate you template, because it's not possible to mass-update item's type from existing template.
This works only for mass-update operation, so you cannot change inherited item's types individually (the field with type is inactive). Of course this patch is incomplete, but quite useful for us.
The patch is against 1.4.4
