"lastvalue" & "prevvalue" as TEXT instead of VARCHAR(255)

Hello,

I'm coming back on an old thread about "lastvalue" & "prevvalue" as TEXT instead of VARCHAR(255). It seems that those columns will be VARCHAR(255) even in version 1.8. Could you please help me in discovering the possible issues if I do this change?
