I was wondering if a feature could be added to allow an item to trigger a calculate item when an update is received.
For example,
I'm monitoring - on a 30 second update interval - the ifInOctets and ifOutOctets on a trunk interface of a Cisco 2960X switch via SNMP. The two items are configured to store a delta value so I can determine the bandwidth in 'Bps'. I have also created a third item to total the 'In' and 'Out' values in a field called 'total bandwidth'.
I'm having an issue where the updates are running times which throws off the calculated value.
If there were an option to force an update on a calculated field when an update occurs, I believe it would solve my problem.
