I was working on a server and needed to completely rebuild the OS on it. I wasn't sure if I should do anything in Zabbix first.. since I'd planned on changing the hostname and wasn't sold on default.
Zabbix handled it quite nicely. Throwing alerts as the host went down.
All I needed to do after ProxMox was up and running was install zabbix-agent.
Worked great! Monitoring caught it and the alert stuck around in the dashboard too.. (still confused about why some do and some don't)
