Would be nice to have extended status page. I know it is not useable to do in realtime, because it will be time consuming (maybe housekeeper can collect data for it) but I think it is really needed to be able to solve many problems. There can be hooks and hints in this page, which will instruct user to do some usefull things to do effective monitoring. Maybe I am wrong and it is possible just now by some another way ?
Would be nice if there will be possibility to:
- find dead items in history and trends (which are in history but not in items) , possibility to delete them
- count usage of history per item (hints to change delay or history length for biggest items)
- calculate and predict average number of items in history for item
((items_per_day)*history_time) (hint similar to above)
- average,min and max time of insert into history and trends (can be used to troubleshoot problems with db, disk wait time etc.)
- make number of unknown triggers/items clickable, to get list of them (and show why trigger is unknown, it means which item has no values)
- maybe some trigger tester, just input box for trigger or triggerid and test will evaluate trigger and shows values of all items and functions in trigger.
Next, would be nice to see some red alarm in each zabbix page headings if:
- zabbix server is not runing
- all zabbix processes are busy and there are more items to check or some another simple test.
I think this should be viewable for admin any time, not after looking into reports/status
