So lately I've participated on and created several threads regarding issues with agent.ping.nodata false alarms and other checks taking place but the corresponding values missing in the database. I tried all sorts of configuration changes with the agentd and server configs but never got a solid resolution. Recently I had to migrate my Zabbix server to a new server and just to see if a fresh install would fix my problems I opted not to migrate but rather do a fresh install on the new server of 1.8. My existing server I was having all the problems with was running 1.8 which had been upgraded from 1.6.7. The other change I made was I decided to use MySQL instead of Postgresql just to see if maybe it was db related. Now in the past I have actually posted saying I had better results with Postgresql and in the past I have, but this new fresh install of 1.8 using mysql instead is working perfectly. Now I can't be sure if the reason it's working fine on the new install is because something was pooched during upgrade on the existing server or if it has something to do with Mysql working better with 1.8. I'd also like to note that as far as tuning Mysql, I used the info in this thread: http://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthre...sql+consultant.
I know this doesn't provide a precise fix per say, but hopefully this helps someone else having similar issues. I know these issues caused me much grief for a few weeks.
Cheers!
