I have a bunch of hosts configured to lookup by IP address. These hosts all have an item assigned simplecheck: icmpping. They are ATM machines &ct. which do not have any agent installed on them. All I ma doing is a ping, to verify that the host is reachable.
ZABBIX 1.6.2
I have a list of these hosts with errors on the Configuration, Hosts list like so:
Get value from agent failed: Cannot connect to [172.xxx.xxx.xxx:161] [Connection refused]
or
Get value from agent failed: Cannot connect to [172.xxx.xxx.xxx:50050] [Connection refused]
I am not using any "Zabbix Agent" items for these hosts. I cannot figure out what is generating this error.
The graphs for the hosts all show normal connectivity, and when one of them goes down I do get an event log and a message via media. It would appear from the error that zabbix is trying to make and SNMP or Agent connection and failing. I have not configured SNMP or Agent Items for these hosts.
Confused.
