Migrating to DM structure

i'm in the process of migrating an existing 1.8.2 zabbix installation that monitors 2 sites into a DM setup.
The master zabbix already has configuration and history data for about 3 months for both sides.
after running the DB conversion , if noticed that i lost my trend/history data and all discovery rules
is this intentional, or maybe a bug ?
also , i've noticed that there seems to be now options to move/copy templates and hosts configurations from master to child nodes.
Is there a way /script to do this ?
for proxy setup , you can change proxyID for the host but it would be a good addition to DM functionality to also be able to move configurations from 1 node to other node.
beside supporting a buildup of DM , it also can be handy in case a child node needs te be replaced. you could move the monitor function to a other child/node . reconfiguring all host on the other node seems not really DM like to me.
