    Having agents act autonomously

    Hi all,

as far as I understand Zabbix agents it is not possible to let an agent act autonom (e.g. if there is no connection to zabbix server) and let it restart any
services or do any actions. All actions that should be run on the monitored machine have to be started by the zabbix server.
    Is this correct?

What about having a zabbix proxy?
Can the proxy run any commands on a monitored host or is this a thing only a zabbix server can do?

The reason for this is the question:
What if the Zabbix server has no network connection and can not reach the agents? Are some basic things for a host like checking itself and restarting a server possible?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Stephan
