    n-tier zabbix

I would like to implement a full N-tier Zabbix monitoring solution. Basicly I wish to divide up the system as thus ...

    tier 1: apache/php/zabbix frontends
    tier 2: mysql db
    tier 3: zabbix servers

This would entail creating serverfarms for each tier and placing them behind a VIP for each tier.

I know that the apache/php part should be straightforward enough. I know the mysql aspect is also simple enough. We have quite a few mysql clusters already..

My question is this... how would I implement a serverfarm of zabbix_servers?

Has anyone thought about doing this? Has it been done? I would be more than glad to share my knowledge of an enterprise-wise implemention of zabbix. It most certianly involve several dozen servers and quite alot of work.

Would such an endeaver be unwise given Zabbix's current state(i.e. offered feature set)?
