Hi all!
I've got zabbix 1.1 installed and loving it!! Many thanks for developing it!
Currently, I've installed the server part temporarily on my workstation. After noticing it was a bit slow, I started to look around for the problem.
First, my specs:
--------------------%<------------------------
Ubuntu 6.10 LTS
Apache 2.0.55
Mysql 5.0.22
Zabbix 1.1
20 agent monitored objects & 4 ping monitored objects
--------------------%<------------------------
Zabbix accounts for about 60 queries per second, which strikes me as a little much. Furthermore, the database was over 3 GB. The history table taking the lion share of this space, 2,1 Gb.
I trunctuated the history table to get rid of it quickly, and tuned the 'maintenance' parameter to 30 days. Also, I disabled some values that were monitored. Also, I disabled active checks, because I got complaints that the DNS server got lot of queries that wanted to resolve the name of our zabbix server. (about 10 per second)
Any ideas? I really value the functionality of zabbix, but this is a bit too much for our infrastructure.
Many thanks,
Ger.
