    Zabbix 4.0 Appliance SNMP traps

I installed the appliance in vSphere as a virtual machine and am trying to set up traps to go to it. I've spend countless hours looking and just can't seem to get anything to hit the machine. I know it says the appliance should be ready to go but it seems the SNMP settings are not. I've created the log files, checked permissions, verified zabbix conf file, snmpd config, snmptrapfd config, snmptrapfmt config, snmpwith log file location and already added the host in the web gui with snmp interfaces and templates. I just don't see any way that this works out of the box and is ready to go. I tried installing snmptt and going that route but eventually scrapped everything as that didn't seem to change anything.

Any ideas on what part I'm missing? I saw somewhere that I need to apt-get install snmp and mibs but tried that previously and didn't seem to change anything.
