I set up an auto-discovery job that scans my subnet and if it detects a port that's running, it adds the correct template to that host (for example port 80 adds http template). That works great, however if the host is no longer running the application on that port, I go ahead and go into the host and unlink and clear the template.
The problem is that the auto-discovery keeps adding the template back to the host! We then get notified that the port is not running! We are running hundreds of hosts and it seems as though once a template is added, it cannot be removed from the host.
We are running zabbix 2.2.1 and seemed to have this problem ever since 1.8
