Brocade Fabric Fiber SAN upgrade process
Hi everyone. I recently inherited the management of a pair of 2 clustered Brocade G620 switches. The specs are below.
The switch type is 162.0
Kernel: 2.6.34.6
Fabric OS: v8.1.0a

We recently purchased some SFP's (https://www.fs.com/products/35933.html) that are supposed to be compatible, but after I put them in the slot, the port status is "speed mismatch / incompatible SFP". We are using single mode fiber cables for this port. I'm thinking this could be because the switches have never had the firmware upgraded. If anyone knows of a setting that could make this work, please share. Otherwise below I will discuss my upgrade question.
I am trying to upgrade the firmware. I found that the latest is v8.2.2d but that requires that you are on at least v8.1.0a so that the upgrade is non-disruptive. I would rather go cautiously though this process so I want to take the non-disruptive method. So my thinking is that I should upgrade to v8.1.0a and then upgrade to v8.2.2d.
That said, Brocade has been purchased a couple of times I think and I'm not sure where to get the firmware or even how to go about upgrading. Im not sure if the upgrade even applies to my set of switches. If anyone can provide some links that relate to updating firmware on a G620 Brocade SAn Fiber Fabric switch, that would be great. Also if anyone understands the process and could recommend the best course of action, that would be great too.
