hello, I've 2 ftp server: one in the the same lan of my zabbix server and one outside.
I want to check the ftp service with simple checks so I configured my zabbix with standard items and triggers (Item 'Standalone_t:FTP server is running' and Trigger "FTP server is down on {HOSTNAME}".
Now if I disconnect the network cable from the server connected in the same lan of my zabbix his item "status" has value 0 if I disconnect the cable from the server outside the lan his item "status" has value 2.
If I've understand status 2 means host not available but I haven't understand why Simple check Key: ftp works in different way.
I've solved my problem with a new item icmpping but I'd like to understand how zabbix works....
