Greetings!
I have a zabbix instance where many hosts were added manually through the web interface over the last several years. I recently configured and enabled Discovery rules and actions to catch the stragglers and now I'm seeing duplicate hosts in zabbix.
My discovery rule:
Checks: system.hostname, system.sw.os
Uniqueness criteria: system.hostname
Host name: DNS name
Visible Name: Host name
We can clearly see that the duplicate hosts added by the discovery rule match the existing hosts exactly. The above criteria are the same, the IPs are the same, the templates are the same, the group memberships are the same. Everything is the exact same. See attached screenshot(s).
Any idea why this is happening?
