So it seems that when you upgrade you don't actually get any of the new configuration stuff of the new version. This means you lack templates, mappings, maps, rules, graphs, etc who knows what. At the very least we have found that we don't have any templates since version 1.8 because they were never upgraded or added as we went. Trying to add the latest templates on the official downloads fails because of dependancies on other things that don't exist either.
Does anyone know a way to get fully up to date? All I find are a couple files here and there across many versions, when what I need is some bundle of "here is everything that shipped in 3.2".
Specifics that led to this:
Automatic inventory does nothing. Research seems to indicate the problem is lacking a template (because otherwise spend days trying to re-invent the wheel yourself) that has all the inventory item mapping in it. Try to import the official 3.2 windows template, fail because lack a linked template. Try to find the app zabbix agent template in question, find nothing past 2.2. Try to import that anyway, fail because missing ping status mapping. Can't find any breadcrumb for that and figure there will be more such problems, come hunting for better method to catch up on 5 years of upgrades that didn't fully upgrade.
