View Full Version : What's the difference in an item vs. trigger

First,

thanks for looking. I am new to zabbix, and reading through the manual, but it doesn't really say what the difference is between an "item" and a "trigger".

If one doesn't want to monitor say "IMAP" should i be disabling the item or trigger, or both?

Thank you for helping me understand the differences.:confused:

Disable the item. If the item is disabled then the trigger can't fire anyway. Or you can disable both - up to you.
