I want to monitor several very equal webservers in my farm (50+). Currently I do this with an "External Check" on a template that i use for all the webservers. So the script is called with the servername as parameter and it checks for a page that is equal on all webservers.

Can I use "Web Monitoring" in 1.4.2 for this and how? I dont want to define a scenario for every host, because they are changing very often. I woluld need a variable for the host to be used in the url of the step and the possibility to assign the scenario to a template. I can not find any hint how to do this; is this possible?

Thanks,
Robert

i have same problem. i want to to monitor 3o+ servers, but when i add webcheck to template zabbix agent, linked with this template, wont return values. if i add it one by one it works. looking forward for solutions.

FWIW - I'm getting the same results. I'm also unable to use the macro IPADDRESS, or HOSTNAME in the URL portion of web scenarios.

I am however able to configure web scenarios for individual hosts, using specified ip's, or host name's.

I will go ahead and file a bug at http://support.zabbix.com

This is not supported currently. Also, WEB templates are not supported yet. I expect lots of improvements in 1.6.
