Problema na instalação 1.8

Ola estou tentando fazer a instalção do zero do 1.8 no ubuntu server 8.04.
Seguindo o manual do site:
http://www.zabbix.com/documentation/...l/installation

Porem quando vou fazer o passo 5 aparece o seguinte erro:

make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.

O que devo fazer para conseguir instalar?

No passo 4 tenho q executar o seguinte comando:

./configure --enable-server --with-mysql --with-net-snmp --with-jabber --with-libcurl # for MySQL + Jabber + WEB monitoring

Acredito que teu problema esta no passo 3

Step 3

Create the Zabbix database

Zabbix comes with SQL scripts used to create the required database schema and also to insert a default configuration. There are separate scripts for MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and SQLite.

For MySQL:

shell> mysql -u<username> -p<password>
mysql> create database zabbix character set utf8;
mysql> quit;
shell> cd create/schema
shell> cat mysql.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix
shell> cd ../data
shell> cat data.sql | mysql -u<username> -p<password> zabbix

Como foi a execução dele???

No passo 3 tive problema ao executar os comando da forma que esta descrito.
Ai alterei o -u para --user e o -p para --password.
Pois com o comando descrito da a mensagem que a base de dado não foi encontrada, mas o nome da base que aparecia era a senha que eu tinha digitado.

Mas vc consegue entrar na base de dados, se conectar no banco Zabbix e efetuar um "show tables;" dentro dele?
pq se seu problema for banco... isso não será possível.
ai cairemos para a instalação do banco que pode estar faltando alguma biblioteca.

Me parece que o teu sistema NAO tem o pacote DEVEL do MySQL:

Se nao me engano no Ubuntu o pacote necessario eh:

libmysqlclient15-dev - MySQL database development files
