    Cant configure auto discovered hosts

    Hi!

I have added my vcenter to Zabbix and applied the VMware templates.
Zabbix has successfully found all my vms and my VMware hosts.
But when I want to put them in different host groups and add other templates to them ( for instance HW template to my VMware hosts) I get an error message.
It seems it is read only on the discovered hosts and I cant do much with them.

Do I have to add each host seperately or is there some other way around this?

Randomly? I suppose hostgroups where host ends up are defined in prototypes? So not so random maybe?
But quickly looking at that vmware integration, I don't really see too many things, what you could use... Its a built in stuff, so sneaking something extra into it is impossible... Clusters and folders in vmware side, only things that somehow remind me things, that "maybe" could be used to divide things up, but only if your vmware setup correspond to the things you need in Zabbix...

vmware templates work based on discoveries and prototypes... They do not become a separate entity after discovery, they are tied to that discovery, so you cannot move or modify them, they are exactly as you prototype defines them. They represent the vmware view of things.
You have not mentioned your zabbix version. Starting from 5.2 you can add custom interface to discovered hosts, so basically add an agent IF, if needed... but it really does not change the point that this host is still tied to a discovery and prototype... If you need "inside view" from host, based on agent, yo uneed separate host.

Support of manual template linkage for discovered hosts should come from version 6.2 https://www.zabbix.com/roadmap#v6_2

        Okey.
        I am using Zabbix 6.0.

The problem is that I want to divide the vms into different host groups because I have several different environments in VMware.

With the discoveries now all the vms are randomly placed in a alot of different host groups which wont work us.
