Notification if Problem persists for >5m

    Hello everyone,

I'm using zabbix for my homelab for about 5 months or so and so far im pretty happy with it.

Theres just one thing that ignored until now:

Whenever a problem occurs zabbix immediatelly notifies me and then immediatelly notifies me again when its solved.

By altering the Trigger action as shown in the picture I can delay a problem notification by 5 minutes

So far so good, but the problem solved notifications still triggers immediatelly. So if I a problem thats last <5m, I get no problem notificationbut a problem solved notification.

Is there a better/correct way to achieve this?

Quite an often question with simple but not widely known solution.

Switch recovery operation to "Notify all involved". This way recovery notification sent only to people to whom problem notification was sent. If no problem notification were sent (problems less than 5 minutes in your case) then no recovery notification will be sent.

Wouldn't the solution be to modify the trigger to fire only after the unhealthy condition has been present longer than 5m, rather than delaying the notification action?

That was one of my thoughts as well. I would need to update ALL existing triggers too achieve this, which feels kinda hacky.

Hi, the Notify all involved option causes notifications to be send to those who add comments or acknowledged alerts or get messages by other actions.
And it causes errors in notification when user don't have media defined. Unfortunately option that is needed doesn't exist for example it can be Notify all involved by this action.
