zabbix windows agent and log tracker

    Hello,

I wish to ask some questions about zabbix and zabbix windows agent.
I have several Microsoft servers and some networking devices that I wish to monitor.
I know zabbix can monitor by using SNMP -so with this I'm okay.

    My questions are:
    1. Can I use WMI on my Microsoft servers without using the zabbix agent?
    2. How much resources the zabbix agent can take (if the answer for Q 1 is false)
    3. Can zabbix copy events from windows event viewer and store them in his own database?
    4. Can zabbix store the event he gets via SNMP to his own database?
    5. If zabbix can store events in his own database, can it handle 2+ GB every day? And can it index it for a quick search?

    Thanks for helping!

        Hi,

        Answers to your questions:

1.U can use WMI and zabbix_send to send the result back to your Zabbix Server
2.What do u mean with resources? zabbix_agentd.exe is about 200-200 Kb and uses little CPU ( of course the more the agent has to work ( meaning monitoring items), the more cpu will be used!!) My zabbix_agantd uses about 5M Memory.
        3.yes
        4.yes
5.yes but that depends on the DB u use and how good u are in customizing the db
