    Interesting Google translation

    I ran a Russian thread through Google translate and:

    zabbix => "zabbiks"

    Could any Russian speakers shed some light on this? Real or no?

      Yes, it's real. "ks" in Russian sounds like "x" in English.

      "x" in Russian sounds absolutely different.

          Now that's interesting!

          I always thought, the name "Maxim" was pronounced "Mack sim" with emphasis on the first syllable.
          What does it really sound like?

            it kinda depends whom you ask
            at zabbix home, riga, if you'd pronounce 'maxim', you'd put the stress on the first syllable.
            in russian, i believe, stress would be on the second syllable. zalex will correct me here if that's wrong
