    Zabbix 3.0

    Dear Zabbix team,

unfortunately I have not managed to find any information regarding postponing of Zabbix 3.0.. I'm not linux expert and I've managed to kill my centos running zabbix by updating some of the packages (which I'm not able to downgrade using YUM and not able to build them myself - trousers and gnutls). I was hoping for Z3 to come out but as you mention on your wiki page beta1 release date has not been met. You also mention that dates from beta1 to final release will be the same as expected but I cannot find info about how close to beta1 you might be.

Since I want to deploy zabbix should I wait for zabbix 3 or should I just deploy zabbix 2.4 for now and wait for 3 later...

Any more info regarding this, would be much appreciated.

Problem of trousers and gnutls in CentOS 7.1 is a bug of RHEL (CentOS).
Since OS is itself the problem, it will not be improved by Zabbix 3.0.

Formal announcement is still there, it seems take still time to release of Zabbix 3.0.

If you want to expect a long-term stable support it is recommended Zabbix 2.2 is a LTS.
If there is a need for new feature of Zabbix 2.4, it is recommended to be selected the Zabbix 2.4.
However, if it is selected to 2.4 is required to quickly update After 3.0 is released.

      Thank you for your answer.

I've done my research on trousers and gnutls. I'm planing to do fresh install on new zabbix. I can even use ubuntu/debian distros, I've just had past experience with fedora, that's why my choice was CentOS. Or I can use centos 7 and not update those packages.

I just wanted to implement the newest LTS, I'm willing to wait some time, just wanted to know a little approximation of release date.. if its gonna be 6 months ill go with 2.2 now..

Hope you understand what I'm saying

This is not the official answer,
but in the AWS seminar at April 22, I heard from staff of Zabbix SIA that Zabbix 3.0 release timing will be August or later.

Thank you for response and thank you again, you helped me a lot indirectly.

I've found your other post with link to quiita you mentioned somewhere else on this forum. Now my Zabbix run again and I can wait for the 3.0.

Upgrading of trousers from fedora-core repo fixed the problem with zabbix-server process

          HTML Code:
          rpm -Uvh https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/trousers/0.3.11.2/3.fc20/x86_64/trousers-0.3.11.2-3.fc20.x86_64.rpm
