How are you sending SMS alerts?

If you have a IPhone I recommend looking into prowl as its free (apart from the app $3), I am currently using it and haven't missed a notification. Other SmartPhones may offer an alternitive

I recommend clickatell.com, because it's a made solution and we don't need worry about SMS/Modem/Cellphones technology.

It has an out-of-the-box Zabbix support for sending sms alerts. And beside of that it communicates through full-blown API, has full tech support, etc. It sends sms messages directly to GSM network, so it will work even if your Internet connection fails.

If you want something more than just a simple GSM modem, then it's worth looking at.
