Monitoring Rack Temperature

I was wondering, what devices do you use to monitor environmental items like the temperature in the rack etc. (stuff you can't get from acpi). I know there are devices from AKCP which work with SNMP (perfect for monitoring with zabbix), but they are quite expensive.

Anything cheaper and/or better you can recommend?

If you have an APC battery backup unit in your rack they have an add-on temperature sensor that can connect to the management card. Mine came with my battery but IIRC it was a pretty cheap option.
