Zabbix Agent - cannot execute binary file

I have some legacy servers that require monitoring. Due the "locked" state of these servers, I can't use repositories or rpm packages.

# cat /etc/redhat-release

i have some problem with the compilation of zabbix 2.0.0 on rhel 5.3:

i always got 2 errors:

checking for net-snmp-config... /usr/bin/net-snmp-config
checking for main in -lnetsnmp... no
configure: error: Not found NET-SNMP library
...

ставил на неё и 1.4 и 1.6 и даже 1.1 версии агента....

I'm trying to figure out how to monitor the update status for Red Hat or CentOS servers.

So far I'm using this:

UserParameter=redhat.security,yum list updates --security | awk '{print $1;}' | grep x86_64 | wc -l
UserParameter=redhat.updates,yum list
