Display just the mapped value

Whenever a value is displayed on a widget, the mapped value and the value itself are displayed.

Hi, is there a way to add a value mapping using Zabbix api or, failing that, with some other programmatic way? As a last option, maybe by directly modifying db?

Is it possible to create a new Value Map via the API? I don't see any mention of this in the API documentation.
