Zabbix Discovery for Virtual Networks

We are exploring a solution where Zabbix can be used as a discovery tool. I wanted to know if Zabbix has the capability to perform Virtual network discovery. Is there a way to distinguish between the physical and virtual hosts in discovery. Also can Zabbix perform Kubernetes cluster discovery as well...

is it possible to configure a virtual host and get data for monitoring from that? (not virtual machine)
since it is a virtual host, there is no where to install zabbix agent.

This may seem a bit bazaar but is there any way of creating a dummy host (i.e. a host that doesn't in fact receive any events but has triggers). My reason for wanting to do this is so that I can in effect split common servers in terms of event escalation.
