    How to import MIB file?

I have a MIB file straight from IBM that I want to monitor. How do I import it into Zabbix? I don't want to have to hand put every one(lots and lots).

    I'm also uploading it.
Its from an IBM Bladecenter 4 port Gigabit Switch

Here's a command line tool to snmpwalk a device and generate a Zabbix XML import template:

And here's a GUI version integrated into Zabbix:

I haven't tested either of these myself (yet... I plan to), but give them a shot!

You don't! Zabbix doesn't know anything about MIBs.

You copy your MIB file(s) to your mib folder, somewhere like /usr/local/snmp/mibs

Then you might need to edit your snmp.conf

      Here's the Tutorial: http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.p...d_loading_MIBS

Disclaimer: All of the above is pure speculation.

          Snmpbuilder Error

Zabbix is not supported for snmpbuilder, and is very important, this is a great limitation. I think so Zabbix is a poor monitoring tool. it have many problems and there haven't support by zabbix specialists

The best way to handle a lot of dynamic SNMP monitors is via low level discovery (LLD). There are some very handy discovery scripts throughout this board (in Russian so use Google Translate https://www.zabbix.com/forum/showthr...ight=cisco+lld) and on github (I included a link below to one of them) that handles auto discovery of text based OIDs and dynamic length of indexes that should cover most of your discovery needs. With LLD you can then create one template of items/graphs/triggers that can discover a fully loaded Cisco/Juniper switch/router. Granted it could take some time to create these if you can't find one that meets your needs but once you create it, you can use that for all of those device types.

I use all of the Cisco templates found here https://github.com/jjmartres/Zabbix and after a few tweaks to support our environment, we are monitoring over 300 Cisco devices (switches, routers, firewalls/VPN's). I found that after using LLD, I no longer needed SNMP Builder (although I agree for the truly one off systems, it would be useful - I have a lot of knowledge customizing the Zabbix frontend, if I find time, I will try and update it to work with 2.2 and 2.4)

Thanks amigo, works for me as well, try that on Fortigate 60C
but didn't need to edit my snmp.conf
I just copy and than load the MIBS to the relevant folders and that's it.
                  thanks again....

                      1. Click Import or, from the menu, click File > Import.
                      2. In the Directory field, specify the location of the MIB modules that you want to import.
                      3. To make MIB Manager parse all the MIBs found in available subdirectories, select the Traverse subdirectories check box.
                      4. Click Import.

                        • Snap Import or, from the menu, click Document > Import.
                        • In the Catalog field, determine the area of the MIB modules that you need to import.
                        • To influence MIB Administrator to parse every one of the MIBs found in accessible subdirectories, select the Navigate subdirectories check box.
                        • Snap Import.

The most ideal approach to deal with a great deal of dynamic SNMP screens is through low dimension revelation (LLD). There are some exceptionally convenient disclosure contents all through this board (in Russian so use Google Translate https://www.zabbix.com/discussion/sh...ight=cisco+lld) and on github (I incorporated a connection underneath to one of them) that handles auto revelation of content based OIDs and dynamic length of lists that should cover the majority of your disclosure needs. With LLD you would then be able to make one layout of things/diagrams/triggers that can find a completely stacked Cisco/Juniper switch/switch. Allowed it could require some investment to make these in the event that you can't discover one that addresses your issues however once you make it, you can utilize that for those gadget types.

I utilize the majority of the Cisco layouts found here https://github.com/jjmartres/Zabbix and after a couple of changes to help our condition, we are checking more than 300 Cisco gadgets (switches, switches, firewalls/VPN's). I found that in the wake of utilizing LLD, I never again required SNMP Builder (in spite of the fact that I concur for the really one off frameworks, it would be valuable - I have a great deal of learning modifying the Zabbix frontend, on the off chance that I discover time, I will attempt and refresh it to work with 2.2 and 2.4)mypremiercreditcard
