I run an IT Support company and we now have Zabbix setup and working fantastically for us - helping us identify and fix problems on our clients' servers, workstations, printers and routers etc before they even know there is a problem. We have it monitoring system performance, disk space, printer errors, SMTP queues on Exchange, antivirus services antivirus definition files and lots more; we even have SMS notifying us of more serious problems out of hours.
We work very closely with another company that provide phone systems and network services and are now looking at monitoring phone systems and handsets; I imagine this will be through a combination of IP monitoring and SNMP. I just wondered at this stage whether anyone has used Zabbix for monitoring phone systems and if you could share your experiences? Alternatively if you are interested in being involved in such a project, feel free to post and contribute here.
